I do have a summer offer for a dev internship at Jane Street and am lucky to get one for a research engineering at DeepMind. I am carefully considering the tech future for ml engineering, but I think I would also be interested in engineering in a func language at Jane Street, considering its atmosphere and emphasis on education. Any advice on what looks more promising to you? TC: $0k (student)
This is complete BS
For a full time job definitely choose the highest payer, i.e Jane Street. But for internship money doesn't matter as much, go for your passion or prestige. I'd choose deepmind - you'll get to see their cool tech and with peanuts they're paying it's unlikely to be your full time job later, so use this chance now.
Career development should also be a consideration early in career.
What you learn at Deepmind is likely going to be more easily reusable than the esoteric ocaml stuff at Jane Street.
I was in your position and I decided to go with Jane Street over Deepmind.
And ended up in Bloomberg. Take note op.
Lllaaauuggghh
FT: JaneStreet for pay; Internship: DeepMind for experience. Your internship pay would be dwarfed either way by your FT pay so might as well do something that’s more interesting to you.
Intern @ Deepmind, Fulltime @ Janestreet
Do both if you can, they are so different
Jane Street is legendary. Don’t care what these other people say. Congrats on that offer
Thank you guys for your thoughts! It helps a lot to have different perspectives. I am still thinking over it, so if you have any advice, please share it.

Modi 3.0- Top 5 priorities???
Depends on your interests. In terms of mileage on resume, deepmind is more valuable IMO
