I have onsite at Amazon next month. I can dedicate only 6-7 days at most, as I have some other commitments that I cant say no to and I will be travelling fulfilling them. So how to best prepare for an amazon sde2 onsite interview in just 6-7 days? Please help and be specific. TIA!

I feel that consumption is key, when you can think and have a stretch of time, do coding whiteboard questions. When you have little time or tired do system design reading. You need to consistently consume something to make use of your time.

You can postpone your interview couple of weeks if you need more time to prep. Just don’t give interview in pressure that it’s scheduled.

If you don't feel prepared, just delay it. Give recruiter any bs excuse and they'll give you time.

Hey guys, thank you all for your help and response! I recently gave the interview. The interview went well, I gave all solutions, also optimized them. The recruiter said she will give a call within two days Two days passed, no call. On thir day, recruiter called to say that it was a "yes" till yesterday evening, but finally they have decided no to hire me, and he mentioned it was a tough decision. In short, I was not hired. But with extra details that recruiter provided, I am lost as to what went wrong as the interviews went really well on all counts, including the leadership principles. Any idea? Any pointers? (The recruiter just would not share any specific feedback however hard I tried requesting him)

That's a bad experience. It could have been a headcount issue, or you need to have someone call your references to make sure someone isn't screwing you over. The recruiter shouldn't say "yes" and then backtrack. They should have said "we don't know yet" and not said anything until an offer.

I think maybe you got it wrong. The recruiter did not say "yes". What he said was as follows: "Hi, we want to inform you that unfortunately we are not moving forward with you. You were a strong candidate. (For review committee) It was a 'yes' till yesterday evening. But we had to make a decision, and it was a tough decision. Sorry!" So, if it was a 'yes', then what went wrong next morning that they decided not to hire me, is a puzzle to me. In that regard, I think as you said headcount would have been an issue. Also, I believe they had already selected a candidate, but other guys like me were called on just to complete the process and show that other ppl have also been interviewed.
