No coding, only open ended questions. Two different interviewers asked me the same question: “what are you doing for help women in tech?”. Then at lunch this SJW who was the “diversity and inclusion director” made a reference to me being white and bald insinuating that I’m just another white guy who doesn’t have empathy. Then at the end they asked me whether I regretted saying anything during the interview. What a giant trash pile. Edit: To be somewhat fair, this was right after the CEOs wife was abusing other female engineers at GitHub. Might have been a reaction to that bad press https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/diversity-guru-discusses-white-women-2016-2

No coding?
No
What does sjw mean?
Social Justice Warrior.
Can you give an example of these open ended questions?
Technical how would you build system x. Architecture stuff
Github has awful interviews process. 4 hr take home assignment even for msft internal candidates. Fuck of
Sounds like discrimination to me. No one from HR should be insulting a candidate, especially someone from D&I. Sounds like a toxic environment to me. Their loss.
SJWs are a disease and must be avoided like the plague.
Amen
Was this a recent experience? The incident you referred to regarding the former CEO’s wife happened in 2014 and you said this interview was “just after” that. I’m not saying GitHub’s interview process doesn’t suck. Far from it. But if you’re talking about an experience from 2014-15, you need to give that context...

smQr11, hateful much? You must be drinking that hate fueled SJW Kool aid. Someone having a different perspective or opinion doesn't mean they're a "fucking prick." And for what it's worth, a GitHub employee treating OP different and making assumptions about him because he's a bald white guy is messed up. GitHub is the screwed up party in this scenario.
I work in HR. The reason you ask these kind of questions (rather than tech questions) is because the candidate immediately comes across as an incel alt-right waste. Makes the rejection email easier.
