I have my first IB interview coming up. What are some useful IB interview tips other than just knowing behaviorals and technicals? And with technicals, are short answers, or long and explanatory answers better?

This. Ignore all other advice. Read the journal and practice the 400 questions.
1. True; from a technical standpoint thatâs pretty much all you need to know. âWalk me through a DCFâ is a standard question. Be prepared to answer as if you know everything without seeming like you know it by rote. 2. Read that morning WSJ no kidding got asked a couple questions on that shit 3. Know market cap of that company and read couple of their recent earnings transcripts 4. Know one stock that you can walk them through an investment thesis about
Depends what bank it is. If it is software engineering, be prepared for framework related and language related questions. You can PM me if you want details. I work for one and have interviewed for a couple more recently.

Know whatâs happening in the finance world. You should be up-to-date on recent mergers/acquisitions, general stock trends, big political news, etc.

Wow this sounds like me. Iâm gonna try and join an IB. But what are some cool positions at an IB?
I wouldnât think of it as âcoolâ Itâs a lot of hard work at the analyst level but whatâs cool is the exit opportunities and experience it will provide to you. You can officially break into high finance with a role in IB.
No joke, but be prepared to talk about how much you love 3 hours of sleep, 16 hour work days, and 6-7 day work weeks.
