Irritating co-worker typing junky

Coworker keeps pounding on keyboard making irritating noise all day. Emails from her are so long and verbose that you start snoozing before you can read an entire email. She also documents every single thing you talk with her and IM her and submits it to manager as if she spent time working on it. How to deal with this?

I have the same problem with a brogrammer behind me. Only he uses a mechanical keyboard. I’m waiting on the day for my opportunity to spill a drink on his keyboard.

      Wear headphones.

I'm sorry that you're a troglodyte that can't appreciate how much better it feels to type on a mechanical keyboard.

There's no reason to have a loud keyboard in the office. There are quiet mechanical options.

Facing same issue. Mechanical keyboards are clear indicators of how self centered someone is

Liquids leave traces and he'll just buy a new one. Fry it in a microwave or use a laptop charger and some wires in the usb port. He'll be "Fuck, it died after only two years, I am not buying another one"

Geez, how about you put on your big boy/girl pants and, you know, talk to them? You could mention that their keyboard is distracting and that there are quiet mechanical keyboard options.

You had me at L’Oreal. Just a nice reminder that tech is everywhere.

Sending email doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a tech job...

  • That is weird. Let her manager deal with it though. As a manager I have in the past worked with my team mates to help them write more succinct emails. And I have also had people set up time with me to complain about one of my team mates. While I pushed back in front of them, I did work with the team mate to try and help him out. I also took hr’s help in finding ways to better train the person. Tldr- talk to the manager if anything. Bring it up casually and ask if u could do anything to help the manager. He or she might have some background for u about ur colleagues behavior.

For someone explaining succinctness in emails, your post is extremely verbose.
