I have 2 years of experience and I currently work at Facebook. I set my LinkedIn to “not looking but open to new opportunities”. A 3rd party recruiter reached out. He said he was hiring for a well funded block chain startup with a budget of $250k-$750k for software engineers. He confirmed that the it’s liquid. Is this realistic?
Blockchain is overrated.
Remember this is a startup so the 250k is not liquid. Most likely low salary plus a very high number for equity that may or may not be worth something.
I chased after only money when deciding where to go to next. Trust me, plan for the next 5-10 years, not 1 year.
No, it isn’t realistic. If the startup had enough cash to throw high salaries at developers, they wouldn’t be picking junior ones. The recruiter is telling you what you want to hear.
Maybe the 250k budget is for the entire company?
😂
3rd party recruiters are a cancer.
You’re an FB alum — the sky is the limit!
I tend to run away from anything labeled blockchain. Most of its snake oil and I don't want my name on that crap 5yrs down the road when the world catches on.
No.
Don’t waste time with 3rd party recruiters.
