I’m a data analyst but Im getting bored of the industry I’m in and the company. The only thing I enjoy is my team consisting of incredible people. I’m also unsure if I’m underpaid since its my first job but I also live in a midwest low CoL city. TC 52k
Before you do look for a new job, spend sometime asking yourself what you really want and how you can avoid the current situation. But no it’s not too soon. You don’t want to waste away precious time you could be learning and growing
thank you and everyone else for the insight!
Good luck!
Never too soon to look the market will tell you no if they’re freaked out by a short stint. I’d recommend applying to some nice to have companies but not your dream job and see what happens that way if you don’t get a response maybe you just need to wait
Start looking now! The job hunt takes time. Takes a bit of time to get an interview. Then the interview process takes a while with onsite sometimes being a month out. Then you typically want to set your start date another month out - maybe two if you need a break. Before you know it, you've been at your current role for a year total.
At 52k it's never too soon. Even if you're not underpaid in your area you could be making a lot more elsewhere
my only concern is that i’m not sure if i’ve built up enough experience to qualify for positions offered in bigger cities etc.
Ill wait at least for 1 year.
