I started as a Solutions Architect at AWS and upon joining, they want me to do the AWS SA Associate exam. The Solution Architect is basically a sales engineer job. Why is this requirement and what can I do to not give the certification exam and still work there? I don't think certifications make any difference or add any value.
The exam is fuckin easy just suck it up and do it, you get reimbursed anyways.
It's not about easy or tough. I just don't see the point. Having OCP back in the day and never benefitted form that tither. Certifications are just a waste of time in my opinion.
Not all of us are smart enough to work at Amazon buddy.
Many customers request resume of a consultant from the consulting company. Certifications look good on resume and it helps the consulting org sell more hours
God forbid you learn something about what you're selling
You are working for Amazon, selling AWS and don’t want to be certified? Come on. Just knock the thing out and call it a day.
First of all it’s not tough just do it. Treat it as a learning exercise. Second when u have too many mediocre mgmt folks then you see this pattern of making certification mandatory. Not much value..agreed...
Udemy has an online course for $19 that you can use to study. 🤤
TC and yoe or gtfo 🤥
Wow, you are an SA and you are complaining about certification? You are in the wrong role if you find this to be an issue. Part of the role is encouraging customers/partners to get certified! You are also going to have to do the pro cert soon so just go and sit the exam.... it is very easy. And yes it and the pro cert are mandatory.
