Yes, I worked with a scrum master at a major household name tech company who managed scrums for 5 agile teams simultaneously. It was definitely a real job and not something just anyone could do well.

Damn man, salty much? When I act as SM my teams’ delivery rate (delivered vs committed per sprint) increases from mid 50% to 95 - 100%. You might have had a bad SM, but we should be assisting in story review, pointing activities, backlog grooming with the business, sprint planning... our job is to make your job easier and more clear.
