Is Coinbase disruptable?

I don’t understand their popularity. Their offering is comically limited and their fees are astronomical. They’ve also proven time and time again that they can’t handle the traffic that comes with crypto volatility. Why are they so successful? Is it just because they’re consumerizing the space and making it “easy”?

Yes. It's that simple. Easy way to go from Fiat to crytpo. Even takes credit cards. Has an app. Making it easy is the hardest part about crytpo. If you have the ability to make profitable complex things easy, you'd be making a fortune.

Many successful tech companies became successful just by making things simpler for consumers. Look at Intuit, Google search, Facebook, Gmail, None of them were groundbreaking products, all had similar competitors.

Easiest way for them to be taken over is for another exchange to hire someone that knows some fucking UI. All the other exchanges are confusing AF. I don't know why half of them haven't made phone apps, user friendly apps, like coinbase.

Binnance has iOS app. But Apple has not approved it.

I setup an account with Coinbase and bought my first BTC in minutes. I’m still waiting for Gemini to finish approving my identity. I will keep using CB

Aren't they the primary way to get USD into crypto?

Facebook ocho Dec 30, 2017

Its easy, it interfaces with the regular economy, and your balance is insured. After shit like mtgox, people don't want to worry about hackers or shady execs stealing all their coin.

Stoked about this. FairX is pretty low-key right now but it'll make XLM 🌝 once it gets more publicity
