Is FB a good place?
I've been at Amazon for 4 years. I'm thinking of applying to other FANG, specifically Facebook (Seattle location). I heard their tech stack, compared to Amazon, is very patchy and monolithic. And their wlb is bad. Is this still the case? L5 SDE II TC: 230
You’ll be fine, wlb in Amazon is the worst compared to other big techs. Wlb in fb is bad when compared with wlb in google, but still much better than that in Amazon. You’ll survive easily.
Not really ... FB is usually worse wlb than Amazon but team dependent. Just read blind if you don't believe me. FB also does review cycles every 6 months and hiring bar is higher so competition is much tougher than Amazon imo ..
You act as if you can get an offer from fb so easily
FB is a very good place. Go for it.
Get offers first
It is monolithic, but I think it works well for facebooks case. Tech stack should not be the reason to avoid moving. Your tc will be better and you will get free food + other perks. Wlb is alright (not the best but is decent for most teams)
