I just finished the IPAT cognitive assessment required by IBM application to be considered for a Software Engineer role. The test is totally unnecessary, time consuming, hectic, pressurized, time constrained. It is pointless to make a candidate appear for this rather than coding assessments. Does anyone else agree?
Think twice before considering ibm
Hello former (at least "Department of the...") Navy vet! Definitely think twice...
Don't join IBM
Sounds like that test is a real-life moment at the office. If you hated that, we want you to join us. Misery loves company!
I actually disagree. The IPAT is supposed to show cognitive aptitude...what exactly do you think a coding assessment shows being that there there is a new hot language every couple years? Side note...when trying to call someone or something else an idiot, you should probably use proper grammar and full sentence structure, lest we confuse you for the actual idiot.
Seen a lot of idiots and failures that use perfect grammar.
And there's one more. mr beamer
They decide your joining bonus on the basis of your performance on the test.
Avoid IBM. You will be horribly underpaid and will be filled with regret
Stay no more than a couple of years. Get trained and build some skills, then go shopping.
Terrible and sad place to work.
Most of the training materials at ibm are more general overview. Taking them for the shake of meeting 40hr of think40 requirements
IBM still exists?
yup. check out their stock prices!
