If one gets hired at LinkedIn as SWE does it mean he will have to write code in Java (or another JVM language? Or there are some teams using Go, C, C++?
Many tools teams use Python. Some ML/big data work is done in Scala/Python. Some infra teams might code in C++, not sure.
Mostly Java. The graph database infra (liquid) team has some c++. And tools team uses some python
Java is common. JavaScript is very common as well.
Are there any openings on the app team right now? Linedin recruiter ghosted me after saying there were no openings .
My team uses Python
60% java 15% python 10% scala 7%C/c++ and the rest is go etc. ... rough estimation
Applications (standard swe) - Java 💯% Tools (foundation) - python 💯% (and Unix) Infrastructure - Java 99% (unless you’re Graph) Mobile / UI - Exactly what you’d expect
@op what do you currently use at Vmware?
C++ for the main product + Python for tools / infra / testing. I don't mind at all learning Golang, if LI uses it. I'd hate having to do Java.
Then interview with the SI track and hopefully Graph is interested in you- our interview is language agnostic
Are the android teams Java or Kotlin? Received an offer so I'm curious.
No
Source? I thought they were mostly a Java shop.
Friend worked at infra team he's done stuff on C++
