I joined EMC and I got a monstrous 17 windows laptop. I have been an Apple user for last decade. The machine is terrible, slow, cheap and plastic. But that’s not the main problem. In order to access the corporate email I started a tool called outlook. I logged on to the exchange server and can access emails but Outlook keeps demanding that I “register” the product. I entered corporate email and the registration utility crashed immediately. Next Outlook warned me that if I don’t register the product then my access will be blocked. I called up the IT helpdesk and he had no idea why the registration tool crashes. My question to Microsoft is what is this registration nonsense? The mere fact that I have account and I am logged in should be sufficient to “register” me. Is this the 1990s where I have to enter 20 digit license key? It peeves me how stupid companies like Microsoft are. They don’t give a damn about user experience. I regret every second of using this bloated windows laptop loaded with Microsoft crapware. With Apple all I have to do is sign in into my laptop that it ..... everything works smoothly after that. My identity is my registration.
Why is he stinky?
Libre office ftw
I have no problems with my identity being my license with a Windows machine and using Office 365 and other Microsoft apps flawlessly in my company provided laptop for years - we even went through two Microsoft Office upgrades, Power BI rollout, etc. Maybe I am lucky or maybe EMC IT has new staff that do not have everything setup right?
Or op got rejection email from Microsoft
Sounds like an issue with your system specifically and the ineptitude of your IT department. I've been using Outlook regularly for the past 8 years on probably 10-15 different devices and have never had an issue like that. You might have an issue with the installation of office, which can easily be repaired. If your company is on office 365 then the product should register with your identity as you said. Sounds like your IT department is the primary issue here
Global revenue would indicate: "no".
Sounds more like EMC IT are noobs
Well OP, the stinky pieces are in your company (IT Dept) who do not know how to configure a license subsbcription
Funny I used Apple products for last 10 years and never had the need to blame any “IT guys”.
WHY should I register I am logged on to the exchange server .... isn’t logging on sufficient?
Windows software is junk
