I'm a computer science student in my 3rd year. I currently have an offer from Mozilla on the Firefox team for the summer. Just wondering what's everyone opinion on the company in terms of reputation, engineering culture, etc.
I think it would be a great thing to have on your resume. Firefox is world class software.
I was an intern in San Francisco. Mozilla would be a great experience. 1) People are extremely nice and competent. 2) Perks and pay are great, better than most tech firms. 3) Everybody knows Firefox, worldwide. 4) Free catered buffet for lunch and snacks all time. 5) Offices are fun, but San Francisco office and the view are just exceptional, go there if you have the chance.
Yeah I feel good to have my name attached to firefox monument outside of the sf office :) plus knowing my work was once used by millions of users.
It's pretty good if you want to play politics.
It’s a great place to learn, esp on contributing to an open source project with contributors all over the world. Perks and pays are pretty good, though not as crazy as FB I guess. I was an intern myself several years ago year 3 as well. Though watch out there is usually a good amount Waterloo interns lol. I hope you work from the MtV office, more spacious and much more comfortable. At the end of the summer you will present and the work is public. Do you have other offers? PM me if you want to share more specifics.
Are Waterloo interns bad? Just wondering
No just happens they have coop and it’s a fun fact.
