Is Palantir still cool? Last I heard, they were doing the McKinsey model but for data.

What's the TC and career progression look like?

  • Palantir is like the company Keanu reeves worked at in the matrix. Dystopian, never cool, attracts the most toxic corporate assholes with little shred of empathy. I’m glad it exists it’s like putting a warm compress on a wound - draws out the pus into the tissue that is palantir.

Palantir does cool stuff. If you’re woke though, it’s probably not cool.

Just like if you care about the environment, you don’t work at amazon, or if you care about privacy you don’t work at Facebook kind of thing.

    Pro: strong impact
Con: that impact could be separating families and putting children/people in concentration camps

There’s been plenty of news coverage on the DOL racial discrimination lawsuit against Palantir. They settled for $1.7M. Here’s one older article with the background.

      https://paloaltoonline.com/news/2016/09/27/palantir-charged-with-discrimination-against-asian-applicants

“For the software engineer position, Palantir received applications from 1,160 qualified applicants, about 85 percent of whom were Asian. The company hired 11 Asian applicants and 14 non-Asian ones. The suit states that the odds of this result occurring by chance are roughly one in 3.4 million.”

I’ve thought about it, but I think working at Palantir would only damage my image, especially in SV
