Pinterest set it's valuation below last round's valuation, which was at at $12.3bn, a brilliant move. Is the valuation attractive? Other than poll response, comments are welcome!
Every company hoping for IPO seems to be rushing for that door. I wonder what they know.
Look at google trends Pinterest. That’s all you need to see.
TLDR: spike at 2012, and has been going down since: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=pinterest
Not sure that's a robust measure on company prospect. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=pinterest,snapchat,twitter,instagram shows almost all going down except Instagram. So are all social media companies doomed? Perhaps. On the other hand, if you add "facebook" search term you'd see it dominates over other search terms. Do people just have immense interest in Facebook over other social media platforms which means FB is still getting crazy user growth or is it because Facebook always getting the biggest negative press? We don't really know. This approach could be a proxy to estimate future user growth, but not user stickiness or potential increase in ARPU.
I cannot find, are they raising capital with 75M class A shares at IPO or cashing out?
I recall there was a post about Pinterest revenue stream some time ago and it wasn’t very promising.
