Won't it be slightly costlier since Robinhood doesn't do divided reinvesting or tax loss harvesting, nor can you buy partial shares? Big brokers do that and also have selected no commission funds.

Depends on what funds you are looking at. If you are interested in say vanguard funds, you can just open a vanguard account and buy without any commission.
M1finance free trading + prtials shares + plus u can create your own etfs/index funds if u want as well.
Robinhood does not allow index funds but you can get ETFs
Just open up a vanguard account. It's super easy especially if you already have one for your 401k
