Heard that gas savings offset by electricity costs. Can actual Tesla owners confirm or deny?
They're definitely well worth it.
Not worth it for that reason unless u have solar. Electricity is more expensive than gas in the Bay Area.
Who the fuck buys a Tesla for the $$ saved. Want to save $$$- don't buy a car. If that is not an option buy a 2005 Honda civic and remain celibate. Also TC or GTFO
+1.. who the hell buys Tesla to save money? :)
No, not at all. Gas in US is cheap af.
So then the value prop is just environmental consciousness? Short TSLA then?
Replacing the battery after 5-7years will wipe out any money you saved in gas
lol in another 2 or 3 years this reality will slap all tesla owners in the face that their car depreciated 100%
yeah, I want to see their faces when they have to drop $10k min for a new battery.
Well, i had the same belief that battery needs to be replaced in 10 years max, there is a guy who uses his tesla as a premium taxi and had driven 100k miles( not sure if it was 100k or 200k) and his battery capacity had reduced by only 5%. Also even the phone batteries are good for about 1000 charge cycles, and at about 250miles range thats about 250k miles. So that's pretty good amount of miles before you would need to change the battery
Economy level gas cars are cheaper than hybrids and EV when comparing total cost of ownership. If you don’t believe me, make a spreadsheet and compare it for yourself.
