Is Tesla not worth it for the gas savings?

Heard that gas savings offset by electricity costs. Can actual Tesla owners confirm or deny?

Who the fuck buys a Tesla for the $$ saved. Want to save $$$- don't buy a car. If that is not an option buy a 2005 Honda civic and remain celibate.

    Also TC or GTFO

Replacing the battery after 5-7years will wipe out any money you saved in gas

Not worth it for that reason unless u have solar. Electricity is more expensive than gas in the Bay Area.

What? That’s not true at all...it does not cost me anywhere near $60 to fully charge my Tesla compared to previous bimmer

      At 40+c/kWh it does.

It’s $0.22/kWh in SF proper so 100kwh (max charge largest Tesla)X.22 is $22 worst case. No idea where you are getting your numbers from mate. It’s always going to be cheaper to use electricity than gas.

You only pay .11 cents per hr if you setup correctly and charge at night. So, conclusion is it cost money to be ignorant.

Tier 2 is 40+c/hr. Which is hit easily if charging before 11pm. Only the ev plan is cheaper than gas. But not everyone can get on that depending on your electrical needs.

Economy level gas cars are cheaper than hybrids and EV when comparing total cost of ownership.

If you don’t believe me, make a spreadsheet and compare it for yourself.

Well, i had the same belief that battery needs to be replaced in 10 years max, there is a guy who uses his tesla as a premium taxi and had driven 100k miles( not sure if it was 100k or 200k) and his battery capacity had reduced by only 5%.

Also even the phone batteries are good for about 1000 charge cycles, and at about 250miles range thats about 250k miles. So that's pretty good amount of miles before you would need to change the battery
