For those that believe she is black, can you provide an explanation? Also at what percentage threshold (% of DNA that is African) can one start legitimately claiming one is black?
Not sure where you are going with this but consider that it used to be in the US’ not so distant racist past there was a one-drop rule. From Wikipedia: “The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States asserting that any person with even one ancestor of sub-Saharan-African ancestry ("one drop" of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro in historical terms), its implications of racial purity being that anyone unable to pass for white in the context of the US racial hierarchy is assigned the lower status of being non-white or colored. This concept evolved over the course of the 19th century and became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" and is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status.[3] The social and legal concept of the "one-drop rule" does not exist outside the United States.[4] The "one-drop rule" is defunct[citation needed] in the United States and was never codified into federal law.”
But this poll was created on 2018. Not in 1920.
“Her father is African American and her mother is one fourth African American” - wiki
Her father is how much African American? My father in law is about 40% native American. (verified with DNA test). So my kids are somewhere between 5-8% native American? So does that make them legitimately native American? They are pasty ass white so it seems silly to suggest that my kids are native American. Jarret looks like she does not contain more than 25 % African DNA at the very most. Just judging from how she looks. So..... Where is the threshold at?.... Where it just becomes rediculous to say somebody is African American? Anything above 15% is African American? So if you are 15% African DNA and 85% European, then you're African American? Does that also mean you can say the N word too?
Please google image search “North African”.
Are Rachel Dolezal or Shaun King black? If so anyone can be anything.
But when it comes to saying the N word, who actually is or isn't black all of a sudden becomes very important.
Black or not what she said was bad, and I also believe she completely meant it, so the response from ABC is highly appropriate.
Well considering that some dude got fired for kneeling when some dudes wanting him to stand... Yeah, celebrities get punished in this manner. Bonus points if you believe that one was justified
She looks Latin American Black to me
