I graduated with a bachelors in CS 1.5 years ago and have been working as an iOS engineer since. Is it worth it in the long run to get an MBA?
Without experience yes
Depends on what you want to do in the short and long term, honestly What are your career goals?
In general, formal education opens doors when u lack relevant experience. MBA from a good school will get you a decent network, but you need to invest in it and nurture it, otherwise the MBA is of limited use.
Masters is critical for career growth at serious companies. There are exceptions, of course, but you have to do it. CS, Eng, or MBA depends what you want to do with your life.
Yeh
It depends on where you get your MBA, and on the friendships and connections you make from it.
lol no opportunity cost
Spend all that time leetcoding instead
No unless your company pays for it
Yes if you are in sales, product or business. No if you are an engg or data scientist. Perhaps you should go for a masters in CS.
Is a masters in CS really worth it?
Yes it is. Your work ex is 1.5 years. You have to work for around 35 more years. A masters will continue to pay off when you are 50. You learn new things, make connections and become more mature. AND on top of this, if you work for 2 years instead of masters right now, 10 years from now, when you are as old as me, no one will give a fuck about your decade old job. But a masters degree will sit nicely on your resume. And it will forever be with you. Otherwise, just like me, 10 years from now, you will still be thinking, dang it.. should have gone for a masters when I had a chance.
