Is asking for a set TC reasonable by claiming that I'd sign immediately?

Awaiting an Amazon L5 offer and have an on-site at another company. Can I negotiate the Amazon offer by telling the recruiter that I'd sign immediately if my figure is matched and I won't bother going onsite? The other company is a pre-IPO unicorn.

First Amendment appears to apply to your situation.

I just wanted to understand the risk of, let's say not getting an offer from the onsite, and if that would lower the negotiating power.

They may not buy it.

Everyone says that. Then they don’t follow through and have a higher offer to shop.

It's a reasonable negotiation tactic. You can frame it as, "I love Amazon, would love to work there, love the culture, yada yada. I would love to just stop my other interviews if you can give me an offer that I think is fair. My heart is at Amazon anyway". At this point, a good recruiter will ask your number. It's worth it for them because it prevents adverse selection

Thank you. Let me try it.

I did this with Google, told them I was scheduling my interview with the same group at FB (it was true) but if they make me a good offer I would cancel with FB and sign immediately. They agreed and I signed.

Nice. Hope it works for me. Not the exact same situation though.
