I am working in Wipro Bangalore currently as a Full stack developer for the past 1 year. The stack is dot net core and Angular. Prior to that, I worked on Java for 6 months as an automation testing engineer (SDET). I was looking for opportunities and got an offer from Samsung Semiconductor Research for a senior software engineer position. The work will be mostly in C/C++. It is in machine learning domain for mobile devices. So, I find the work to be interesting enough. Would changing the tech stack will be problem in the future? Is it looked down upon? I know that learning a programming language is not tough. And I can do that fairly quickly. (1-2 weeks) But amongst my peers at Wipro, there is a notion that changing languages means that you're not very good in it as you'd have lesser experience in it. What do you guys think of it? Also does anyone have idea about the work culture there? I am targeting FAANG after a year or so at Samsung. I've heard Google doesn't care about the programming language. What about the others? My total compensation is 20L. I'm getting a 60% raise. YOE 1.5 Sorry for grammatical errors. I'm on phone and it's a pain. Sigh.
That's such an Indian way of thinking, it doesn't matter what language you use, any decent company knows that domain specific knowledge can be learned. I would argue that if you only stick to one language, it might actually show that you're unable to learn beyond your domain.
Yeah that's what I thought. Thanks for the reply.

Always happens with me lol. Proofreading is foreign to me.
Dude, working with c, c++ you should know about pointers thoroughly. Otherwise segmentation faults will haunt you.
Senior engineer at 1.5 yoe lmaoooo
Is 20L current TC or the new offer?
Changing languages is a very good idea, especially if it is one you are not familiar with. You will expand your mindset around programming which will make you a much better SWE.
Wtf, senior at 1.5 Yoe? You are mentioning 60% raise does that mean Wipro was paying you 12.5 lacs? That seems pretty high for wipro standards.

Its never about programming languages. It’s all about your problem solving skills.
Yep. Got it.
