Is i140 premium processing worth it for L1B?

Hi,

I am L1B rest of the world, priority date is current.

Should I file the i140 using premium processing? I don't see any benefits as the i485 is being submitted at the same time and I am L1B.

Any experience to share?

Thanks!

The I-140 would probably take 8-15 months. The I-485 is placed on hold until I-140 is approved.

With premium processing, it reduces the I-140 down to 15 days and then the I-485 starts processing soon after. That assumes the visa bulletin lists your country of birth as current for the immigrant visa that you’re applying for, otherwise you cannot file concurrently.

Pay for the premium processing and move on with your life.

Thanks, do you have any source on the i485 on hold by any chance?

Also, with the mandatory I-485 visa interview, it doesn’t allow for the I-485 to be approved at the same time. Therefore, I-485 can’t start until eligibility of the I-140 is determined (I.e.: approval) and won’t end until you have an interview. Depending on your area that you live in, getting an interview time slot will probably delay the I-485 the most.

Amazon doesn't apply premium by default? Google applied for everything in premium including all visa/green card related stuff

Ask your lawyer. He’s paid to have opinions on this

Getting to the lawyer takes time. The big firms rely on paralegals, and sometimes their knowledge is mmmmh
