I have 2 yrs industry experience and am trying to evaluate whether I am potentially qualified for Google L4 / Facebook E4 / LinkedIn Eng II. I know it totally depends on my personal experience and interview feedback. But as I said I’m just trying to understand whether I can be a good fit. If possible, I’d like to know relevant perks as well. Thanks to whoever provides insights!
Sure, are you awesome?
You're focusing on the wrong thing. Get a good comp first. And if you're good, even entering as an L3 won't limit the scope of projects you'll be allowed to work on.
^^ read this young man. Level 3/4 doesn't mean anything. Getting l3 with higher pay is even better than l4. You will be promoted very fast if you are good. And if you are not capable, a higher level will make you struggle.
Yeah. I had 1.5 year experience and finally nailed it. Besides, you already have the potential to promote to E4 faster than usual new graduate, even you are offered an E3.
You don't really apply directly for the level, anyways. It's assigned based on experience and interview.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
Yep. Go for it. Talk to some of their recruiters and wait till mid December to apply or early January so they have the most in their budget for hiring.
