I am going through interview process with Facebook, Google, Amazon and Intel. Is it necessary to tell current salary during the salary negotiation ?
Try not to, especially early in the process. If they press, give some general range “and we can start there”. Make liberal use of Glassdoor for where you start.
I feel glass door is outdated because salary for most roles were last updated 6/7 years ago
Nope
Nah just say your target
Follow up question, if you purposely inflate your current salary, will HR be able to track down and rescind your offer?
Maybe don’t do it no need
There's no way for anyone to verify your current tc
In California it is illegal to ask candidates for their current salary. Recruiters should be aware as it’s been in effect for about a year now.
In CA the law prohibits employers from asking salary or current level(which can indicate salary) so you can tell the employer to gauge you and pay based on your interview ( one of my friend did this at FB and got hired at a level above current level)
Thx everyone for sharing your thoughts!

Not necessary. In my case it usually helped.
