Is it okay to whine about my company's immigration policies when my priority date is current ? I feel guilty somehow when I ask my manager / hr to check up on why TF is my paperwork so slow in moving forward ? I guess I feel guilty because I don't share the same backlog issues my team faces. I avoid going to lunch with them because I can't contribute to the GC issues they talk about. The process started last year and still haven't done PERM yet. That's how slow the company is moving forward with my paperwork.
For large companies they usually go with the ones who are backlogged so you will have to wait. But I do see some people got apply early because their managers help them push. So you can try to push your manager.
Not true. They have a certain number of years that you must put in , maybe 1 to 3, before they start the process. From OPs post seems like the process has begun, he just needs to hurry them up.
That’s not a law, it’s just company policy, and even then there are exceptions. I’ve seen people having their GC started after just 6 months in the US.
How can you have a priority date if your PERM hasn’t even initiated yet? AFAIK, your priority date is only given after PERM is initiated with the Dept of Labor.
Good point. I guess OP believes he'll be current at the time they file PERM because of current trends?
Not sure, with retrogression, everything might be delayed. I’d say “near future” instead of current. :P
Don't complain. Just do the needful.
If they're bundling you with the backloggers you should be pissed, not guilty

Reality check, dates can change on the Visa bulletin. Being current now doesn't mean that you'll be current when your application is ready to file. Eb1 never had a backlog and now look at it. Get your act together and get your application moving, if your intention is to actually be in the US long term. If it's not, then just chill... you'll be fine.
