well, the question says it all.. Last year was the first time I started applying to roles, and I went overboard after my first reject from Facebook.. I applied in there for literally every possible internship position (using referrals from different people) over the course of 3 months.. Well, I didn't end up getting any interviews from them... I was a bit immature, but I am a bit skeptical if I might be blacklisted for this... Anyone has any idea about this... would really appreciate any insights! thanks!
Nope
Gotcha! Thanks a lot!
Actually continue doing that, it shows that you’re interested.
Here's how it went. You were rejected, it came up in the recruiter's system, each time your application came across during the cool down period it was automatically ignored
oh... that might actually be a perfect explanation.. I guess that does seem right.. However I applied via a referral most of the times.. do you think that might have some effect?
referral doesn't matter if you have recently been rejected even at Amazon, tried to refer a friend who got rejected a month ago and recruiter told me to try again in 5 months
Well if you are applying to the same role i suppose there is a cool down. But if you apply to a different role, you are fine. You can immediately apply for a different role as there is no cool down
oh, got it... one question though... would you consider SWE Intern London and SWE Intern Dublin different roles? They did have different links on the facebook careers portal..
They sound like the same job though right just different locations. So i imagine you have to wait for cool off period. You can also ask your recruiter about it?
I've seen people with over 700 applications to Amazon and they arent blacklisted. All BS aside I'm pretty sure a blacklist does not exist. Each recruiter determines who they will and will not work with.
With that said I would personally not be inclined to work with you of you had been recycled 3+ times in the last year or 2, depending on the feedback. Tech gaps can be filled/trained/downleveled. LP gaps such as Earns Trust red flags are a non-starter.
oh, got it.. Yeah I totally understand that.. However I don't think the feedback rule would apply for my case though (as i never ended up getting an interview).. I hope so..
Nope. Tons of people do this. I know candidates who write programs to scrub through our careers page and apply to every role that they meet MQs for (some candidates literally apply to hundreds of reqs) you’re totally fine - worst case scenario a recruiter might see it and role their eyes , best case scenario a recruiter sees you applied to their role and reaches out and you end up getting a job! At least you’re in the system now 😂
Oh great!! Thank you so much for the insight!!
I applied to 50+ jobs at Amazon before I got in and I stayed for 6yrs 🤷🏻♂️
wow... thats insane.. guess its not that uncommon after all!
Nope. Google limits you to 3 applications at a time I think.
