I have a pending offer from FB and am expecting an offer from Robinhood. While I am a lot more excited for Robinhood, I am wondering how much the stock worth with the huge series D round. While not knowing the exact TC makes it hard to judge, what's your thought on joining Robinhood after their 5.6B valuation?
How was the interview there by the way?
Mine was easier than expected as I heard that their hiring bar is high due to the small team. But I am not eng role.
5.6B valuation is high. They need to expand beyond trading to justify the valuation
I agree. But that's basically my question Haha
@vgdh45 you might need to familarize in the fintech industry space. It's not by coincidence traders are payed by the Millions.
Vote for Robinhood.
Not many US persons trade, maybe 10%? Mostly because passive investment works better and easier. They definitely have lots of room to grow, like offering other trading instruments, or a no fee checking account or high yield saving account. Personally I would not join a “startup” at 5B valuation unless they offer 1M or more stocks
Just look at how other brokers are when compared to robinhood. TDA has a way better revenue model with more users and better customer service/user experience. IB has dirt cheap rates with programmable APIs and dirt cheap rates. All the other big brokers can easily adopt robinhoods model and push them out with their better service. I see robinhood as a mediocre startup that will ultimately fail, especially since the broker business is an already limited space with plenty of big competitors.
2M is amazing. But how is the retention?
Robinhood i would say, refer me if u choose them. My view is that, they are just starting, a lot of room to grow. And they are transactional.
Will let you know If I get the offer ;)
