Is no news from recruiter is a Bad news ?
I have given an interview at fast growing startup in Bay Area, a month back and haven’t heard back from recruiter. The portal(jobvite) shows ‘in process’. I reached out to the recruiter, he told me that he will get back , once he has some news. Reaching out to him again and again makes me look like I am desperate. So is this a bad news?
Probably. At least you are not their top choice. It may also mean that they may have some changes like headcount, budgets etc.
I’ve found 3-5 business days is usually a good sign you’re moving forward. Anything less or after that is usually bad news.
Time to move on
The next day, they recruiter told me that they are not ruling me out as they have to finish the interview process. But its been a month from then! Thanks everyone 👍
Some are just really slow. But It's obvious you're not their first choice, so don't make them your first choice.

There’s 1000s Of those openings in the bay. Why are you hung up on this one?
I would guess they have a top choice candidate they are waiting on.
Either they don't want to hire you, or got no money to hire anyone. Either way, doesn't work for you, move on.
Definitely bad news. My advice is don't wait for them and continue interviewing. Anything more than 1 week makes no sense. Even if they say yes, do you want to join a place which took so long to make a decision ?
