What does it mean when people here say, the company will blacklist you (for whatever reason, like for example, reneging on an accepted offer)? Is there a real list or database that the company maintains? Or is it just the memory of the recruiter and the hiring manager? This has been a very vague term and thought there should be a thread to focus on this. Appreciate if anyone who has had experiences with this at different companies share it.
I used to work in HR it does exist but you’d have to do something pretty bad to end up on it / someone has it out for you. It has former employees who embezzled, harassment accusations, people who were really low performers, etc. The recruiter or manager really has to have it out for you if they go through the trouble of adding people to the list. Note, most companies have HR systems that will show every touchpoint you’ve had with them, so most will be able to see that they gave you an offer, you accepted and then declined, but this is not a blacklist.
Unrelated: Does failing an interview with a company twice in a year and still applying a third time result in very low chances of getting an interview call?
Only if you have low TC
I know in oracle the manager has the ability to say whether you are eligible for rehire on exit. I would imagine if you accept and then drop off they still have that ability.
Not only that when i buy blacklist.com and implement world wide blacklist, not just that company, but all companies will know. Chinese social score will be small potato compared to the blacklist.
It exists. Pretty easy to mark someone's record in a database as do not call/do not work with.
It is. There used to be a no-hire list in Amazon. If you do end up on it, you would never be hired back into Amazon. Though you would need to commit something seriously egregious to show up on that list
