Google and Facebook are heavily engineering led with PM having minimal impact. Amazon has a much stronger product manager & customer culture.
I think a lot of the innovation comes from Jeff and the values he breeds. During my time at Amazon, and in my experience, for the most part, PMs were a nuisance. To be fair, I was never on a "product" team, so I was usually dealing with too many PMs trying to squeeze their shit through infrastructure bottlenecks that wouldn't scale. It's probably different on a product team, where a PM is liaising with customers and working out priorities and stuff.
Startups = product and/or GTM innovation. FAANG are too big and bloated for innovation - more innovation in political empire building and turf wars these days. FAANG are where you go to make money not innovate.
You can throw the N in there, it applies to them as well.
Is this a joke? Amazon and innovation. It’s an ecomm player with a terrible voice assistant products. By ecomm, I mean a company that was started by a hedge fund guy that knew how to work Wall Street. No profits for how many years? Lastly, tier low talent. Alexa is a piece of junk. AWS will gets its ass kicked pretty soon - just wait.
Been waiting for 6 years. Aws is a money making machine. Look up how much revenue that division makes. Talk crap

Innovation? Amazon? I don't remember any.
Triggered.
Yup. I wonder if someday Amazon will be more than just an online bookstore.
