Is there any benefit to apply to a company through a Staffing Agency.

I went to a staffing agency And they suggested that have a client with a few openings. But the one she suggested, I was already in the middle of applying there. So was wondering if there is any advantage of going through them.

Wouldn’t they get paid somehow?

Usually The recruiter from the agency gets paid a percentage of your annual pay. So he is working to get top pay for you. Even if he isn't getting percentage, it's i his best interest that you join the company. So he will reveal the pay range that the hiring mgr has in mind. All depends on how you talk to the recruiter. If you can give him confidence that you are good at stuff ... he will go extra mile to get you in. This doesn't happen with company recruiters.

At the same time, the recruiter will make $0 if the candidate walks away. So I'm not sold the recruiter has the candidate's best interest at heart exactly.

At the same time he will bug you with questions when you decline a offer.

The only time to use an agency is when they know about openings that you don’t. Given that most big companies post their jobs publicly, the case for agencies is weak. Using an agency does not make you more likely to be hired.

Don't use an agency. From experience candidates there are inferior to candidates that apply directly. If I was looking for a job I wouldn't go through an agency, I know pretty much which companies are in my industry and do my research and find openings on their website directly
