My idea is simple. Create a community of business professionals and have them to crowdsouce business intelligence from the right people. It's different from blind that it's more about helping people outside of the company to get the business insights about this comapny. The platform would distribute insight cards to the right people.
Like modern employee sourced Dun and Bradstreet info on a company? LinkedIn was/is in a good situation to do this.
Exactly. I'm trying to leverage crowdsoucing model to disrupt D&B. Linkedin is trying by asking questions on the side bar of their company profile pages. But they are too big to move fast now.
Is it legal? Seems like espionage
Nothing about confidential. More like gathering sentimental data about companies
You mean like the annoying GLG? https://glg.it/
Huh, good to know they exist. Why it's annoying?
True business intelligence often requires confidential data and detailed, difficult analysis. 1. How would I as a member of your network get access to this data. 2. Spend the time modeling to deliver the right intelligence. People actually get paid for this IRL. 3. Like Blind, how would you trust anything anyone provided. The trust problem is key. Or by “business intelligence” do you just mean internal company gossip.
Nope, it's more about sentimental analysis on companies. The back end would filter out noises and leverage predictive model to fulfil unknown information about the smes
Sentiment and analysis seem antithetical. I’m not exactly what topic you would trust this crowd provide. Or where sentiment matters to things like profitability. I know nobody wants to hear their baby called ugly. Think it through. Be ready to answer 3 things 1. What it does (distinct from peers) 2. How it does it (cheaper, faster, better) 3. How you would exit from it (duh)
An example is jigsaw- Crowd sourced contact info which Salesforce acquired.
Yeah, something like that. But apply it to a broader context.
How would you make money out of it?
Monetize on data.
It's a good idea.
Could you elaborate more on what benefits you would get if a platform like this exists? I assume you are from consulting, might have a different perspective.
Real biz pros have other methods to gather information. Mostly hiring consultants, brain trust, experts to help.
D&B is exactly something that I'm trying to disrupt here by leveraging crowdsouce model. Crowd wisdom will outsmart experts.
