I recently wore a GAP t-shirt to office. It has ‘gap’ written on it, quite small but still noticeable. A co-worker who is also a friend, walked up to me and chuckled, “Dude like seriously, GAP?” He was honest enough to talk about it, but for the entire day I saw people staring at my T-shirt. Is wearing it to office considered cheap or down market. Like the t-shirt has a pretty cool design TC 220K
The fact that people give you a shit for it proves that the culture there is crap
Yeah who gives a fuck what brand T-Shirt someone wears? There's a reason why people mock those who outwardly value "prestige"
Wtf, you shouldn't care what people think about your clothes. If you like them, be confident.
Lmao what a dick coworker. Dude Gap is a major customer of Azure and has a great partnership with MSFT Source: my last company that being said, it's a dying brand compared to Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta. Other gap owned companies (although Old Navy is splitting off)
You should have said, "Dude like seriously, you're paying that close of attention to my clothing brand preferences?"
What's wrong with GAP? It's just another brand. Only problem would be if you worked at another clothing company
I believe GAP is considered to be a low income group brand. That co-worker is a good friend and he asked a valid question,”Have you ever seen anyone wearing GAP to office?” I tried recalling and frankly have never seen, or rather I did never notice.
Nah. Old navy is. GAP is not a low income brand.
I will say this. After May 2020 you will begin to see Gap rebrand itself as a more high end brand. It has been tied closely to old navy but without the success in the past few years. But they'll rebrand themselves really soon, after they split Old Navy off to its own company My favorite out of them is banana republic. A lot of business professional clothes that get me hella compliments
The most important thing about a shirt is proper fit. If it fits your body well, it shouldn’t matter what the brand is. If you’re too self-conscious, wear shirts without any branding.
Personally I think it's stupid to worry about this. Your manager doesn't care what clothes you wear. He/she only cares about the work you produce. Worry about that instead.
