I want to take my parents on a trip to Europe. Would Italy be too hot and crowded in July? How about Switzerland? My parents are aging and from India.
We went to italy in September. It was very hot 35 celcius. July could be 40+. Went to Swiss in July last year. There was a heat wave. Temp was 33 35. So it should be nice in general. On mountains temperature is less anyways.
This is great feed back. Thanks. Any idea what might be a good place to go in July?
We went to Interlaken, Lucern, Bern and Zurich. Liked Interlaken and Lucern the most. Liked the mountain tops mt Pilatus, mt First, Brienz Rother barn, Grindelwald, Lauterbraunan, walking next to torquise lakes.
How many days? Where in Italy? If city trip, you could fly in to Zurich, rent a car, drive down to Lugano-Como-Bellagio...on the way or back visit Interlaken / Lucerne, then you have both.
Probably 10 days? For now just was just wondering of July was too hot and crowded to even consider these places.

avoid italy in july
Italy will be hot, but if you go to Sicily, Liguria or Sardinia for some beach time, July is perfect. Switzerland would be nice. You might also want to check Nice or Spain. Spain has the best beaches.
Watch out for thieves in Italy.
Switzerland and then you can take trips just south to Italy, lake Como is beautiful and an Alpine lake so its not too hot, plenty of mountain towns in northern Italy that will be comfortable in July. Def stay away from Venice (April May are the best months for it), and Milan will be way too hot. Stick with the towns on the lakes, Como, Garda, Iseo, always a breeze, great history and amazing food.
Thanks. Italy - Rome, Venice, Florence, maybe Amalfi coast - will be okay in October?
Yes fall is also awesome,.
Go to himachal/uttarakhand/northeast India and there you have it, switzerland !!
Yes there will be literally no room for your parents
This helps. Thanks!
