What are your thoughts about Contract to Hire roles. Its an SDET / Automation role and will be on contract for 3 months, after that JPMC will convert to FTE. Do they always convert? $65 / hr W2 - Columbus, OH for 5 YoE. Is this any good?
IMO, 65 / hr is pretty good for OHIO. Just keep in mind that at the end of Contract anything can happen.
If you are full time now dont fall into the trap. Money is good short term but in downturns, contracts are the first to go. Contract to hire or temp to perm jobs almost mever convert in the time frame they claim. Headcount is almost always out of the hiring managers control. You ll never get a raise. If you get the perm offer after 1 year itll be at a severe discount. If you dont get the perm offer in 2 years, they cant extend you.
What is the staffing agency that you used?
Good luck on 3 months to FTE, normally it's 12 mo to FTE based on a corporate policy. I would check with your hiring manager.
