Hiring the best person for the job is code for hiring people like you and discriminating against minorities. I don’t know if you’ve met the average bank employee, but they are typically below average intelligence and are not that impressive, so any discussion of merit makes no sense since most bank employees didn’t have any merit to begin with.

Just because blacks are 12 percent of the population doesn’t mean that 12 percent of the population is prepared to be a quant or a developer, for example. I don’t think blacks hold the same number of college degrees per capita as whites or Asians. Therefore, it would be racist to make 12 percent of JP Morgan black.
This statement is ignorant, for example, Nigerian-Americans are the most educated people in the country. In a city like NYC which is majority-minority, JPMC has an appalling diversity & inclusion record. Even Jamie admits in public how terrible it is.
