JUUL Maternity Leave

Can anyone from JUUL tell me what is the maternity leave policy? Recruiter said it’s 16 weeks but is new employee eligible on day 1, or is there a minumum amount of time you have to work there before becoming eligible. I am expecting an offer but found out I’m may be pregnant. Current TC: 168K

Benny’s are good, but they require that your baby starts vaping at 10 weeks

There is an uptick of women's joining this company. You should be aware of!

🤔 I think that's grounds for termination if you literally on day 1 take maternity leave. You haven't passed any onboarding phase and you expect to be paid?

Nah, they can't terminate her. That would be an invitation for a law suit against the company

Op just found out she’s pregnant how would she take maternity on day 1? Unless start date is muuuuuch later

JUUL is located in SF, and as far as I know companies that are SF residents must provide fully paid 4 months of maternity leave to employees. So, 16 weeks sounds about right

What do you mean "I may be pregnant". You are 9 months away even if your results are positive. So 9 months is good enough period to show you are valuable

I’m asking because currently at Amazon the paid maternity leave is only available for employees who have joined the company for at least a year. I just learnt this after working for Amazon for 2 years.

Do JUUL employees vape in the office ? In that case you should plan to be on maternity leave from Day 1.

JUUL keerkalan Aug 17, 2019

Vaping indoors is illegal in California. Most employees don’t vape.

It was a joke. 😌

Sorry I might have not been very clear in the original post. I’m not asking taking maternity leave on day 1, but are new employees eligible on day 1. At Amazon, the paid maternity leave is not available until you worked for company for at least 1 year. If JUUL is the same, then 9 months later when I’m about to take the leave I won’t get paid even if they value me.

It's unfortunately that way because people have abused it. If you hire someone for a position you needed to fill and they go on leave within the first couple of months you still need that position filled but now you're paying maternity leave and now lack the manpower to do the original task. They can't hire someone else because it's out of budget when you return. They could hire a contractor. Or they could hire someone who isn't going to leave the seat open. This wouldn't be an issue if people didn't abuse it...

Update: I told the situation to recruiter and asked her to share with HM, the team is ok with it. New employees are eligible for maternity leave benefits upon joining, but cannot be protected by FMLA by law.

Probably to stop abuse of people taking multiple job offers at the same time and taking maternity leave to cash in.

I am wondering what made you join JUUL ( per your profile you are with Amazon). JUUL will go through lot of regulatory scrutiny and personally their products are evil.
