Why should someone refer you who knows nothing about you? Since you want to move into finance, here's something else for you to consider: the value of referrals increases (and decreases) proportionate to their scarcity. If the supply curve for referrals increases significantly, what will happen to their value?
I'm from a no name school, so it's extremely hard for me to get interviews. I was just hoping that people will be willing to try and get to know me and then decide if they want to refer or not.
