Did you try and ask them?
What type of role do you want at the VC? What’s your background, education? Ie, what do you bring to the table..
Eventually I want to be a partner, that’s the end goal. I have a masters in CS. Working as a dev but have followed a lot of founders/startups/VCs/case studies. As of now my apt position would be an analyst.
are you willing to put your money in? Do you consider yourself optimistic enough and believe in people and their good intentions?
2 sure fire ways 1. Build a company, sell it, join the fund that invested in you as a venture partner. 2. use your personal capital to invest in Startups and demonstrates that you can deliver alpha. If a follow-on investor sees you in multiple good deals they will want to get closer to you. Venture is a rich person's game.
Are you willing to work 80-100h per week?
Yes, if that’s what it takes. I have realized nothing comes easy.
Then you are good. This is what stopped me. I had similar desires. I am curious what the rest of the community will say though.
