Hey guys just want to know when is an adequate time to stay in my first entry swe job to transit to my next second job? It's been 9 months for my first job and my pay is so low I'm just really sigh... 50k in Philly area. I'm on opt visa and it's getting harder to get another job. Should I just stay till my time is up and move back my own country or really hustle and try my last year of H1 petition next year?

Dude first of all I'm not Indian you racist prick. And secondly you'll be surprised how much Comcast pays for contractors. I hope you don't drop your jaws when you learned what I can do. I work on multiple stacks and lead my team.

Yeah definitely go back to your home country, at least leave Comcast. US has enough home-grown racists. People like you are the reason HR made us complete that “unconscious bias” training.

And I never said you’re Indian. You’re the one complaining about being underpaid by desis, while the reason you’re underpaid is clear - VISA FRAUD. Your h1b is probably not even going to be approved at 50k/year salary. There are rules about prevailing wage.

What's with Comcast. I'm just an honest person trying to live the American dream working twice or 3 times harder than anyone. And no one is violating any visa fraud here, my documents are all with real credentials and actual skills. No bs.

Dude your profile literally says “not so hard working developer, underpaid by desis”. Unbelievable. I was going to help, then I read your profile, and it completely put me off

Stay as little or as long as you need. If it only takes you seven days at your first for you to find a better second job, then only stay seven days.

Generally a year or two, but if you find a much higher paying job, you should take it.

Average job tenure in USA is 2-3 years. So I always look for a major change internal or external within 3 years.
