Hello all, i signed the offer last month when amazon was valued at 1930, so far the stock has dropped 300+. Did I just get a cyber monday discount on my salary or does amazon give bonus to compensate when TC is below target? Thanks!
the stock doesn’t really affect your tc until after 2 years though, and mostly after 3/4
True true
I don’t know if it is common practice, but in my case the stock was not a fixed price, e.g. $200k, but rather it was a fixed number of shares, e.g. 100.
Also, what nrz62 said. For the first two years the share price is pretty inconsequential.
But when you're already 15% down, how can it be inconsequential?
Since for the first two years the participation in the stock loss (or gain) is limited. 5% in the first year, 15% in three subsequent year. For the first two years, compensation is primarily base and signing bonus. The RSUs are a long term incentive. If the stock remains depressed for two years, I’d think that would result in either a mass exodus or Amazon would instead increase RSUs.
If you are in good standing at Amazon and the stock price does impact your tc, your cash part will be adjusted to meet the comp target. As long as Amazon succeeds and you plan to stay in the long term, you are all good
Your words are like a warm hug
So what? Amazon is still a better move compared with SAP
I joined LinkedIn at 230, month later it was 100. That's life, don't worry too much. P.S. with time they try to fix things during review cycles. But not in one go.
You join Amazon, stock price falls. Coincidence? I think not. They say a large part of our compensation is in stocks because ownership. You must have some pretty poor ownership.
You will be fine. Check back in a year and more. This is a long term play
Hang in there.
If your tc falls below target due to stock drops you will be compensated. Don’t worry about it. Focus on doing great work. Papa Bezos got your back, as far as you got his.
I don’t think you are priced the date you signed. You are priced the day you start as this is the date you are given the stocks. I might be wrong though.
they calculated the number of shares I am receiving in the offer letter :( not amount
