Thanks for saying your TCYOE. Welcome! I’d say July, take more time off. May would have been the only real choice for stock consideration. June vs July won’t be much.

Think about one more factor: your first review will be in Dec/Jan. If you join later you will have less time to deliver something meaningful on your level (and expectations from lvl6 are very high). On the other hand if you join very late (e.g. in August) and join the team after Oct 1 then your first review will be automatically MA, so you will have ~9 months to deliver something meaningful (before your real first summer review).

Are you sure those are the review dates for Facebook?

I am in FB now. Reviews dates: end of June, end of Dec.

Check the stock vesting schedule. It’s best to join right before the cutoff where you have to wait another three months

    • Facebook :?
Next vest date will be August 15 for both dates. Won’t make a difference in this case :)

Regardless of whether OP starts in June or July, the vesting schedule will be the exact same

If that’s the case, by starting in June, OP has to do one extra month of work and only gets paid base salary + bonus for it. If RSUs are e.g. 50% of income, that’s like working an extra month and only getting paid 50% for it.

You get paid extra the first payment for starting earlier in a 3 month period (split up by 1 month)

      How does that work?

Actually now you're right, I forgot they changed that when they removed the 1 year cliff

Before you'd get 12/48, 13/48, or 14/48 shares depending on which month you start in a 3 month cycle leading up to RSU vest date
      Jun 8
    • Microsoft Upo
You'd lose out on the last vest date but most people would have left by then

What about joining in mid September? How would that affect first vesting and reviews/refreshers?

You could also consider how much ramp up time you have until the next performance review. I think they do twice a year.

EDIT: desanxxx beat me to it.
