Msft internal switch for L64
If you’ll be transparent then you won’t be able to come, until and unless you have your team in USA too
Anyways those days are gone, when getting visa was easy, specially if you plan to come this route
Msft helps employees in getting L1? Or it's the general H1b lottery
They apply for L1.. MS is far better than others for immigration stuffs
L1 have some limitations, about the duration you can stay, and also remember if you plan to come in L1 your salary won’t be high, it will be very less, because you are coming on business visa - if you plan to stay in USA for longer period then you shall try H1 - because if you think you can come on L1 and then get transfer to H1 it will be little time consuming and difficult too, plus companies will suck up your money
I transferred as L1 and don’t think the limit of stay is different than h1b excluding green card part. And the salary caught up very quickly (in about a year) and you could then slowly transfer to H1B when the time is right.
Ohh that's not good then. I'm at L64, does it add any value while switch or it same as any level?
What happens to the stocks..do.i get according to us standards or same as what I have in India?
I transferred as 60 and the stock is universal I think. The salary might be a bit lower of the band but would easily caught up if performance review is good.
I think more than level it’s about pay ... I’m not 100% sure about level, but you’ll get a pay cut compare to same level in USA with H1 visa
How much are they paying you for L64 in Microsoft? And what about 65?
Is it easy to transfer from Google India to US ?
It is not difficult in Microsoft like other companies if you are well prepared and have visa then keep applying and following up with HM.. you should be able to land quickly.. there is no such restriction of number of years
Thanks! I guess Visa is the main issue. Does msft help in getting Visa ? Or once you get by applying yourself only then msft consider the switch?
Send an email to immigration team and talk to your manager about visa.. don’t talk to manager about your US plan., first step would be to get visa once you get visa. You can apply for jobs without informing your manager..
