Joining another company

I'm leaving Google to join a competitor. What's the right thing to do in terms of contract, to be on the right side of the law? First resign and then sign?
I'm in the UK

Enough users to make a valid ratio of google:bing users?

Yea, like it wouldnโ€™t hit a divide by zero error at least.

When chromium edge is shipped standard on all copies of windows, Bing will see a significant bump in users.

Def always sign first, and make sure itโ€™s all clear (background check etc) and then resign. Never resign without an offer in stone.

Also when you give your two weeks, a lot of companies will tell you to leave the same day if you are joining a competitor so you end up getting paid 2 weeks.

    Be smart

Jesus UK worried about being on the right side of "the law"... Come to America where they can let you go or lay you off anytime but also quit it and forget it without worry too
