So I have an offer from Microsoft but the recruiter has been a bit cagey about the exact team I’ll be joining or the work I’ll be doing. I’ll be at a satellite office so I’m concerned it might be more difficult to transfer internally (within the product area). Is this normal? Should I just take the offer?
take the offer, meet the hiring manager, if you don’t like him or the team, reneg. make sure the recruiter knows it was his fuck up
Sounds like you’re working with a non-MSFT recruiter. Accept the position but don’t give any Critical financial details (social security, etc) until you speak to hiring manager. Almost sounds like a phishing attack
It more sounds like a contract offer, is the recruiter from another company?
Just ask to speak with the hiring manager directly and to align expectations on role and responsibilities. Communication you have other skills other than engineering.
Yup, I am trying to get the hiring manager contact info from the recruiter... no luck so far.
Its the start of a new year, likely recruiting and engineering are both getting back from the holidays. Patience, it’s not an exploding offer.
