What age did you do it? Were the mood swings really as bad as people say?

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

Late 20’s, and highly recommend you to do it before 30 as the number and the quality of eggs are better, and you can spend less and do less rounds of egg freezing

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

I didn’t have any mood swings but I had brain farts :/ Forgot things a lot!

As a member of opposite sex, care to explain what’s scary abt it?

Booking.com Punani Jul 3, 2019

And what is the procedure? Do they put you on anesthetic? Does it hurt?

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

Scary bc 1. You have to self inject 3 different medications every night for 2 weeks 2. You will be fully sedated when they extract the eggs 3. You body will also change a lot during the time (very uncomfortably bloated)

What’s the viability timeline like these days? A couple of years ago , when I inquired, I was told that chances of pregnancy are almost nil after the fifth year of freezing.

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

Doctors told me they technically last forever. The first doctor that I consulted said one of his clients was able to use the eggs after 7 yrs.

1 how old are you 2 what were your primary motivators for doing so? I wonder if its like you wanna inc your tc before having kids or you didnt find anyone up to your standards or something else

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

Late 20’s. I’m in a relationship, but I don’t ever want to be that woman that pressures the guy to marry bc I have a “timeline”, and what if this guy doesn’t work out? Another reason is I have so many high priorities in my life right now, and I want to delay my plan to build a family. I could use these eggs for my 2nd/3rd child too!

thats awesome you sound like a smart and very accommodating person. I guess egg freezing alleviates some of the concerns with women hitting 30yo.

Did you have to take Lupron? Which medications did you use/take? How many rounds did you do, and how many total eggs did you get and freeze?

Is the process complicated and long drawn ? Does it need an operation ? Where they need to sedate you ? More information on what a “cycle” is will help !

Snapchat Playette OP Jul 3, 2019

The process (counting from the first injection to the actual surgery) lasts about 2 weeks. But it takes another 2 weeks to fully recover and feel normal again. Cycle = period cycle = one surgery. You can only withdraw as many eggs you have within your normal period cycle. And after that, if you don’t have enough, you will have to wait for the next normal period to start in order to begin your next cycle. Hope this makes sense. Yes they fully sedates you for the operation.

Is the surgery done by laparoscopy ? It’s a very minor surgery ?

I read your comment about not wanting to be the woman that pressures the guy due to time line and just wanna say, RESPECT!

I did it twice and it was the best decision I ever made. I got a low count the first time which is why I did it again. Praying those eggs last into my 40s

Google workfrom🏝 Jul 3, 2019

How old are you now? And why wait so long for kids?

Google vMFB12 Jul 8, 2019

It takes two to tango and I’m not interested in getting a sperm donor, gotta find the right partner. I’m 38 now :)
