Hi everyone, I have offers from kpmg, deloitte,EY and PWC, wanted to know if anyone has worked at them in advisory or audit. I've heard KPMG has a lot of stress? Any reviews?
I mean I guess it depends on your client list. They're all the same. Compare benefits and salary. Whoever has the best, go forth.
I know s free people at Deloitte and they love it but OogieBoogi is probably thought about the clients and the offer
I absolutely loved audit and advisory when I was at rsm mcgladrey and ey. It is not meant for everyone and if you hate it you will be miserable there. Stress will be there wherever you go so suck it up and figure out what is best for you after trying out different things.
I work at KPMG in data science. They have an office specifically for tech with everything you would expect in a google or tech startup. Games, standing desks, open office, etc. However the work and stress is most analogous to a roller coaster.
Do you travel a lot for your role?
Hey, are you able to give me a referral to KPMG?
At Big 4, expect to work long 60 to 80 hours week for 4 to 5 years. If you survive, move up to management and make the new guys do 80 hours weeks. Or leave for a better opportunity. If you need a green card, this is good while waiting for 5 years for GC. If you are in audit, the big 4 name will help in your controller or CFO future. If you are in tech, go to a tech company with stock upside. Big 4 are partnership, no stock upside unless you are a partner. Maybe a few grand bonus a year.
I hear they strap you to a chair, pin your eyeballs open and play the kpmg song over and over
Get out. I used to work in public accounting. You will give up everything.
There is going to be a certain level of stress in any career and at any firm if you care about doing well and being successful. As a partner, I’d have concerns about someone looking for a no-stress career.
Don't be fooled. Big 4 are all like sisters. Similar, with subtle differences. Biggest difference is your immediate boss and group. Suggest you localize your research.
