Does anyone own a Kia Forte. Is it a good car. I just need a car for getting to/from Bart station-home.

If it's just a small commuter car I honestly would stay away from Korean and stick with Japanese.

It’s about as basic a car as you can get. It’ll do what you need to, but I wouldn’t expect to find anything about it fun or comfortable.

No major issues so far, 65K miles , maintenance would be cheaper than comparable cars for sure

Is it true that Kia’s are unreliable? I see they have added a lot of safety features and the reviews have been generally good from edmunds and other car related sites.

They’re fine. Korean cars used to be not very good but they are fine now.

Way better now, the previous reputation keeps prices low which is great. Kia hires former Audi designers so the designs are way better now
